True Story: I was a head lifeguard at the pool in Austin that is the vodka’s namesake in college. The liquor is made 30 miles away in Dripping Springs, though.

I was also a medic at a Cub Scout ranch in Dripping Springs during the same summer that I was a lifeguard at Deep Eddy.

I made those connections as I typed this post. Now I’m a little weirded out.

You know what I really wanted? I wanted to try that Absolut Oak. I’m intrigued, but not enough to buy an entire bottle. I can’t find a single shot bottle of it, though. Have you tried it?

Yeah, I obviously haven’t tried that vodka yet. I’m not certain how the oak flavor would mix with vodka. Scotch, okay, it has a smokey/nutty flavor anyway. But vodka?
